A word to every soul
You Are Welcome Here
You Are Welcome Here
The Catholic Church does not turn away the struggling. She was built for them.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."Matthew 11:28
Every soul is made for Love
If you experience same-sex attraction, or identify as LGBTQ, you are not disqualified from the Church. You are not disqualified from Grace. You are not disqualified from God's Love โ which is the only Love that fully satisfies.
The CCross does not discriminate. We serve every person who walks through this door, regardless of what they carry. clay himself is nobody โ and all of us. We are all broken. We are all in need of Mercy.
What the Church asks of every person โ straight, gay, or otherwise โ is the same: Chastity. The mastery of the body by the Spirit. Not the suppression of Love, but its proper ordering toward God.
What the Church actually teaches
The Church does not condemn the person who experiences same-sex attraction. The Catechism is clear: these inclinations are not sinful in themselves. What is disordered is the act โ and that standard applies equally to every unmarried person, every person outside of sacramental marriage, every person who gives the body what the Spirit has not sanctioned.
Fornication โ of any kind, with any person, in any configuration โ is the rejection of the body's sacred purpose. This is not a special rule for one group. It is the universal call to Holiness that every baptized soul is given.
pride โ the vice, not the parade โ is the root of all sin. It tells us our desires define us. The Gospel says otherwise: we are defined by whose we are. And we belong to Christ.

There is a place for you here
Courage, Encourage, and other Catholic apostolates exist precisely for those who experience same-sex attraction and want to live faithfully. Many have walked this road and found not emptiness, but fullness โ a deeper friendship with Christ than they imagined possible.
You do not have to have it figured out. You do not have to be perfect. Begin with a simple prayer, and when you are ready, seek the grace of Confession, the Eucharist at Mass, and faithful companionship on the journey.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord โ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."Jeremiah 29:11
