The Gospel is The Good News

The Good News of Jesus Christ

The Gospel means The Good News: Jesus Christ has come, died for our sins, risen from the dead, and calls every person into new life with Him in His Catholic Church.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

A happy picture of a Catholic family

A Catholic family is not a flawless family. It is a home that keeps turning toward Jesus Christ: receiving Mercy, speaking Truth with love, praying together, forgiving quickly, and learning to serve one another.

Christ at the center

Parents receive the sacraments, seek God’s will, and teach their children by witness that Jesus is Lord. The Gospel—the Good News—shapes the home’s priorities.

Marriage lived as a covenant

A husband and wife faithfully love one another, honor the dignity of each person, welcome life, and carry one another’s burdens. Their covenant reflects Christ’s faithful love for His Church.

Prayer and worship

The family gathers for Sunday Mass, prays in gratitude and need, reads Scripture, and returns to Confession when sin has wounded communion. The Good News is received again and again as grace.

Mercy in everyday life

Children are loved, corrected with patience, and formed in faith. Family members tell the Truth, ask forgiveness, forgive one another, care for neighbors, and make room for those who are hurting.

Hope for every household

No family is beyond the Mercy of Jesus. The Gospel means The Good News because Christ meets real people in real wounds and calls them forward, one faithful step at a time.

Become Catholic

If you are ready to learn about the Catholic faith or are considering entering the Church, ask a parish about OCIA—the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, often still called RCIA. A local parish can walk with you through prayer, Scripture, teaching, community, and preparation for the sacraments.
